You are beautiful. Your beauty, just like your capacity for life, happiness, and success, is immeasurable. Day after day, countless people across the globe get on a scale in search of validation of beauty and social acceptance.
Get off the scale! I have yet to see a scale that can tell you how enchanting your eyes are. I have yet to see a scale that can show you how wonderful your hair looks when the sun shines its glorious rays on it. I have yet to see a scale that can thank you for your compassion, sense of humor, and contagious smile. Get off the scale because I have yet to see one that can admire you for your perseverance when challenged in life.
It’s true, the scale can only give you a numerical reflection of your relationship with gravity. That’s it. It cannot measure beauty, talent, purpose, life force, possibility, strength, or love. Don’t give the scale more power than it has earned. Take note of the number, then get off the scale and live your life. You are beautiful!
I’m a positive person. They say I always see the brighter side of everything. But these past few days, the weaker side of me reigned. I just suddenly felt so worn, restless and I’m sighing countless of times. I’ve been battling with my inner struggles, overthinking and such. Hating my body in particular.
One sleepless night (due to overthinking), as I was desperately looking for something to make me feel better, I browsed my array of e-books. Then I found this title, Life, the Truth, and Being Free by Steve Maraboli, sitting at the bottom part of the list. I gave it a shot and at that hour, I felt so relieved, blessed and renewed.
Why did I post this? (You’re not even interested, are you?) I just want to share the quote to everyone who feels so frustrated at their weight, their figure, image and perception in life because others said so. I’ve been there and this quote helped me, and it might be the same for you.
Fit or not, You are beautiful! Everyone is awesome. Others will always say something and we will always feel bad for it. Let them say their piece and let their words shatter in pieces. Shake those haters off. (Just like what Taylor did.) Share your sunshine, they might be the one who needs it. Nothing can measure the greatness in you. Continue to live and be awesome. As to what my favorite k-drama said, “SWAG!”.
