Tips on how to ask travel permission from your strict parents

An original post from my tumblr.

OMG! May lakad ang tropa! But how can you ask permission from your parents?  So I made this list based on my experience. Please don’t tell your mom & dad that you got it from me.

✔️Magpakabait ka muna = (Behave/ be the good child)
✔️Gising ng maaga = (Wake up early)
✔️Magprepare ng umagahan = (Prepare the breakfast)
✔️Iready ang sasabihin = (Practice thy speech)
✔️Mata sa mata ang usap = (Eye to eye contact while talking)
✔️Ibida ang goodness ng lakad = (Bring out the goodness of the travel)
✔️Detailed itinerary from Departure to Arrival
✔️Assure them na kaya mong alagaan ang sarili mo na di ka shunga = (Assure your folks that you can take care of yourself and that you are not stupid)
✔️Isa-isahin ang mababait mong kasama at siguraduhing kilala sila ng pagpapaalaman mo = (Introduce all your travel buddies and make sure your folks know them)
✔️Mag-iwan ng isang damukal na contact nos. (This is not OA, dapat lang na alam to ng parents mo, in case of emergency) = (Leave their contact numbers. This is not an exaggerated move. Your parents must knew it in case of emergency.)
✔️Wag mong sasabihin na “Papayagan nyo po ba ako?” = (Do not ask them if they’ll agree on it.)
✔️State the fact na gusto mo talagang sumama, wag patanong = (Do not ask them, state the fact that you really want to join your buddies.)
✔️Magpasalamat sa desisyon = (Be thankful for their decision)
✔️Kapag pumayag, wag kang tatalon, pasimpleng ngiti lang at hug at pumasok sa kwarto = (If they gave you their blessing, do not jump out of joy, simply smile, hug them and go inside your room.)

Lagalag sa Legaspi

Parallel title: Wanderer in Legaspi
Who: High school friends
Where: Legaspi, Albay, Bicol Region, Philippines

We are really going to Caramoan. And since we need a stopover, we decided to do a side trip to Legaspi. And it didn’t fail us. I assure you, it won’t fail your expectations to see the famous perfect cone shaped mountain, Mt. Mayon.

A bumpy route that passes through water, rocks and trees. Off to the road ride, go!

Chika Alert: I don’t know how to operate a bike nor an ATV. So I was really afraid that the ATV might be a no-no for me. But look at the pics and it will tell you, it is worth the ride. 😉

We chose the easiest and cheapest trail because of the time and money constraints. (Also, I’m too excited to see the waters of Caramoan.)

If you are now considering going to Legaspi and availing this trail, you can look into Mayon SkyDrive ATV Adventure for reference. You can also choose other exciting trails. 😉

Kinda cloudy at this side

My dear readers, that is your prize after the trail, a wonderful masterpiece! And hey! Look below at our Instagram-worthy group shots. 😉

Jump friends!

You can stop by this scenic place after the tiring bumpy ride. There are food stalls near the souvenir shops that will provide you with refreshments. Try their famous chili mango shake that will make your mouth fiery.

Chika Alert: I love spicy foods. So for me the drink is a must try.

Spicy drink

I love how the drink played with my senses. It is refreshingly cold, the sweetness and sourness of the mango fruit blends well with the hotness of the chili. All their chili shakes has levels 1-3 to choose from. I had mine in level 2 and I tell you guys, it is super hooot! 🔥🔥🔥

So after refreshing ourselves with the drink, we all now prepare to be camera ready for another batch of magnificent shots. But before all of that, here’s a little background.

“The Cagsawa Ruins are the remains of a 17th century church built by the Franciscans. … In February 1, 1814, Mt. Mayon began its most violent and deadly eruption in recorded history. Unfortunately, the church, along with most of the town of Cagsawa, was destroyed by lahars and pyroclastic flows, killing thousands of inhabitants.”

“… Today, the site of the Cagsawa ruins is now a park managed by the municipal government of Daraga and is now the most visited tourist spot in Albay. In 2015, the site was declared a national cultural treasure, the Philippines’ highest designation for a cultural property.” — WowLegaspi

Supposed to be trick shot. Hi Jec!

Aside from being a historical site, the church bell is also a famous spot for trick shots such as the photo above. (Sorry I’m not that good at it.)

Legaspi is the place to be. The scenic landscape will make you stop walking away from it. It is hard to leave but I need to depart in order to arrive.

See you again Legaspi!
Now, here we go Caramoan!

Hugging spree!

How’s your day? Did you receive any positive gesture today? But have you given anyone a positive gesture today? If your answer is my name is NO, my sign is NO, my number is NO, then let me give you a virtual hug.

Out of all gestures, hugging is my favorite. It feels good and it is like pinching your little brother’s fluffy cheeks. But do you know that hugging is not only a sign of gesture but has medicinal effects on the persons body too? Yes!

“It transfers energy and gives the person hugged an emotional lift. You need four hugs a day for survival, eight for maintenance, and twelve for growth. Scientists say that hugging is a form of communication because it can say things you don’t have the words for. And the nicest thing about a hug is that you usually can’t give one without getting one.”

4 hugs = survival = to keep you moving and working
8 hugs = maintenance = to keep you living
12 hugs = growth = to keep you happily achieving

Isn’t it amazing?

Here are some reasons on why we should give and receive hugs everyday:

Healthier you

When we hug someone, oxytocin is released into our bodies by our pituitary gland, lowering both our heart rates and our cortisol levels. Cortisol is the hormone responsible for stress, high blood pressure, and heart disease. A healthier life and lesser risk of getting sick. So go ahead and get a hug from yo’ momma!

Good for the Heart

Human touch is important. And in most ways we communicate with the persons we love through a simple touch. The sense of pressure on your skin, for instance, when someone hugs you or squeezes your hand activates pressure receptors called Pacinian corpuscles. These send signals to the vagus nerve, an area of the brain that is responsible for (among many things) lowering blood pressure. So run and hug your special someone before leaving!

That hug! Kilig!

Saying the words you cannot utter

The interpretation of body language can be based on a single gesture and hugging is an excellent method of expressing yourself nonverbally to another human being or animal. Not only can they feel the love and care in your embrace, but they can actually be receptive enough to pay it forward to others based on your initiative alone. So call that someone you are itching to see. Meet him/her and give that person a hug to say the words left unsaid.

That’s okay

Self-esteem booster

From the time we’re born our family’s touch shows us that we’re loved and special. The associations of self-worth and tactile sensations from our early years are still imbedded in our nervous system as adults. The cuddles we received from our Mom and Dad while growing up remain imprinted at a cellular level, and hugs remind us at a somatic level of that. Hugs, therefore, connect us to our ability to self love. Family hug! Cute!

Group huuuug!

Happy pills

Reaching out and hugging releases endorphins and serotonin into the blood vessels and the released endorphins and serotonin cause pleasure and negate pain and sadness and decrease the chances of getting heart problems, fights depression, helps fight excess weight and prolongs life. Even the cuddling of pets has a soothing effect that reduces the stress levels. Hugging for an extended time lifts one’s serotonin levels, elevating mood and creating happiness. So hug your dear friends and enjoy life! (Actually this concept about hugs originated when a friend said to me that, “I know you need a hug too.” So sweet!)

Tight huuug!

There are so many more benefits of hugging. Hug those you love, squeeze and hold hands frequently. It’s better than pills and it could just provide extra protection against infection and stress and a happier life. Hug goes both ways. It takes negativity away and it brings good things to both parties. No one will be left with no hugs. Equality! So hug your loved ones before it is all too late.

Hugging spree!
Love lots! 💙

Road to Forever

In a span of a year, I visited the place: thrice. (But I’ll be posting 2trips only because the other one will be for future purposes.) See! I love Baguio that much! I’m planning to invest in a resthouse there someday. wink wink

So, this first post was when me and my friends went there the summer after we took our Oath as Licensed Librarians. (Yes, like a celebration party. Clink that drink!)

Shall we start? Aye? Aye!

Hilltop View

Who wouldn’t love that view? Those greens captured my heart. Ahh! Earth is a wonder.

Swan boat ride with friends

True kids at heart, we’re teaming up and racing towards the other end. Row faster girls!

Who said Burnham is only wonderful at daylight? It is magnificent at night time too!
There’s a closed road near Burnham to give way to tiangges at around 9pm. Great buys for blankets, pillows, jackets and sweaters. Yay! Thrift stalls! Beware of pickpocketers!

Can’t take my eyes off

The landscape is mesmerizing. The walk going to the top was really tiring but if you’ll see these sceneries, it is like walking in a dream. There were so many tourists but the vibe of the place calms and relaxes me, emotionally. (Sits at the edge of a cliff, re-evaluating life’s purpose.)

Seeing people living way up there, growing crops, smiling warmly and being contented in a quiet life was eye opening for us. Happiness can’t be bought by the wealthiest man. Only a simple and contented man can have it. Naks!

Featuring mi bebes 💛

Strawberry taho for fuel

Give me yer best smile ladies!

Strawberry taho, strawberry ice cream, grilled corncob (food is life) were some of the delicious picks to refuel visitors on their way up.

Friends forevermore

There’s a television novela entitled Forevermore that popularized the whole place. Agnes (Liza Soberano) as the female lead and Xander (Enrique Gil) as the male lead. It is said that whoever eats the half of the twin will be destined for the other who will eat the remaining half. Now where’s my twin strawberry? 🍓😂

Whether you are looking for your partner in life, moving on to another chapter or just enjoying life, it is just simple, visit Sitio La Presa. Appreciate everything and everyone that surrounds you while we still have them. Spend your time with the people you value the most. The serenity of the place plus good company is a big hit combo. Thumbs up!

If you guys want to see how it was like inside the Military Academy, you got to visit this place. It is learning while having fun. (Tanks were amazing!)

The Academy is so spacious and nature loving. I just want to walk, walk and walk if it weren’t too hot that day. The place is too beautiful to neglect.

At the Headquarters

Hi there Generals! It was so nice to finally meet you! 😂

Navy Chopper

Okay so I honestly do not know the difference of chopper and helicopter. I’ll research it for you guys soon. Sorry!

Friends with the Cadets

I’m not mocking them but I always mimick them doing the march. They just look so adorable doing that. It looks so tough doing all of those with utmost concentration. Salute!

Shall we all go now to my favorite part? Yes? Yes!

This spot is near their quadrangle. And I just got this urge to direct a photography shoot. (Mood swings)

Friends in Line

I’m using the Pedestrian Lane as a big photo asset. I have this thing with photography but I doubt myself everytime. Ta-da!

My photography victims. Hi guys! Looks familiar? I got the idea from the Beatles. I told my dearest friends to twist it a bit. (we’re twisted like that) They crossed the Abbey Road in London while us, we crossed the PMA Road in Baguio.

There’s another avenue
Beckoning, the great divide
I would choose the same joy,
the same sadness each step of the way
That fought me and taught me that friends never say
Never say goodbye. 🎶

To sum it all. It was super fun to travel with friends you treasure the most.

That’s all folks!
Lovelots! 💙
